Is the Tower of Babel only a myth? What evidence do we have?

Nebuchadnezzar placed an inscription on the rebuilt portion of the base to the Tower of Babel.

Nebuchadnezzar refers to it as the "tongue-tower".

Nebuchadnezzar's Inscription Reads: "... The first which is the house of the earth's base, the most ancient monument of Babylon; I built and finished it . . .   A former king built it but he did not complete its head. Since a remote time, people had abandoned it, without order expressing their words . . ."
