Prayer changes the world. Bible translation and related ministries are God's work and we want to be listening to Him and reflecting His heart of love for the people we serve. You can make a difference around the world by praying right here in NZ.

Wycliffe relies on your prayers!

They:

  • Enable us to do the work
  • Encourage us to persevere through the challenges
  • Keep us focussed and God-centred

"You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us in answer to many prayers."   2 Corinthians 1:11

Wycliffe regularly produces prayer resources to keep you informed and there are a number of ways you can be a part of our prayer team:

WIF (Wycliffe Intercessors Fellowship)

Prayer launched the work of Bible translation and continues to move it forward. Wycliffe Intercessors Fellowship (WIF) is a large group of family, friends and supporters who are committed to supporting Wycliffe's ministry in prayer.   If you would like to be part of this vital ministry and receive our monthly prayer and praise update, please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Get Connected...

If you are regularly online and want to get connected in prayer, GlobalPrayer365 is run by WEC International and supported by Wycliffe. From this site you can get twitter feeds and SMS (text) messages, connect on Facebook, book a time to pray and find prayer point, engage with other prayers, and join specific prayer forums.

Another great way to get connected is the Joshua Project. This site has lots of resources and information for Christians who have a particular unreached peoples focus and want to connect with others of like-mind.

Prayer Groups

There are also groups throughout New Zealand who meet regularly to share and pray for the needs of Wycliffe. Leaders of these prayer groups receive regular prayer and praise information to keep them up to date with the work and personnel of Wycliffe NZ. If you would like further information on the location of these groups, or how to go about forming one, again please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Pray for a specific member

Over 70 NZers work with Wycliffe around the world. You can make a vital ongoing contribution to their ministry by joining the prayer support team of one of our members. You will receive periodic letters with news, prayer and praise information from that team to help you pray more effectively and may well have the opportunity to meet them when they are next home in NZ.

If you or your church would like to partner with a Wycliffe team member in this way, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it the following information to us. We will then put you in touch with someone appropriate:

  • Your name and address
  • Any preference as to who you might like to pray for.
  • Name of the Church and minister/leader where you regularly worship.

The Bibleless Peoples Prayer Project

People are given the name of a bibleless language group and they commit to pray until that group has God's Word in its own language. Join the thousands of praying participants all around the world! For more information click here.
